Americans believed the Soviet Union going to take over the government of the United States and Americans can lose their freedom. As a result of McCarthyism Arther Miller, wrote The Crucible because people was falsely accused of communism like how in Salam that was accused of witchcraft. During this period, a climate of fear of communism existed in the United States due to certain significant events. One of these events was the trial of Alger hiss. Whittaker chambers a former Soviet Union clams that Alger hiss had been giving the Soviet Union information about the united state government. In court chambers was ask about his association with Alger Hiss. Chambers had described how he stayed with Alger and his wife Priscilla for some time. Chambers said how tried to get Alger to leave the communist party, but he refused to leave the party. Alger hiss claim that he don’t know a man name Whittaker and he never seen him before in his life. Nixon asks chambers many questions about Alger’s nicknames, habits, vacations and hobbies. Chambers said the Hiss both had the same hobby –amateur ornithologists and bird observers. On October 8, chambers find four notes handwritten by Alger hiss, copies of state documents and 35mm film. Alger was accused of making copies of state government. The documents were type using Woodstock typewriter. Another event that cause fear during the McCarthy era is the effect of the Korean War. The Korean War was between the noncommunist and communist. Korea was divided by the communist the north and noncommunist the south. On June 25, 1950 North Korea invaded South Korea. America sends over the navy, Army and some of the united nation to help South Korea fight off North Korea. North Korea pushed past and got to the capital of South Korea call Seoul. The South Korea pushes them back to the 38th parallel line. The Korea war finally ended July of 1953. The Americans fear if they had let North Korea  conjured South Korea then communism will spread to the United States. During the 1987 the Soviet Union is trying to create more deadly missiles and weapons. For the first time in 1986 an adversary has the ability to destroy our country and us in the matters of minutes (Chapman). The Soviet Union has an advantage because they have nuclear missiles. Also the Soviet Union has done their research on ballistic missile defenses and land base missals. The climate of fear of communism in the United States leads to the rise of McCarthyism. McCarthyism is a mid-20th century political attitude characterized chiefly by opposition to elements held to be subversive and by the use of tactics involving personal attacks on individuals by means of widely publicized indiscriminate allegations especially on the basis of unsubstantiated charges. Joseph McCarthy on December 2, 1954 was voted senate of the United States. McCarthy gave a speech on February 9, 1950 in West Virginia; he said he had a list of 205 people in the State Department known to be members of the Communist Party. Joseph used his manipulate way and the era’s fear of global communism allowed him to build power while destroying lives and careers.   The House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) was created in 1938 to investigate alleged disloyalty and subversive activities of private citizens, public employees, and t organizations suspected of having Communist ties.

Investigation into social media remarks Conviction before an Investigation Takes Rights away from  both the Victims and the Accused A recent uproar at the Dalhousie Dentistry educational institution is leaving both sides of the argument feeling wronged. The controversy is based on the supposed remarks posted on a private Facebook page for a group referred to as the â€Å"Class of DDS Gentlemen† which includes 13 members. It recently came to light that some of the students have been accused of posting violently sexual remarks directed towards women on that Facebook page. Some of the comments directly reference students from that dentistry class. The editorial argues that the partial suspension is only beneficial for the culprits and in no way helps to support the victims in which the harmful sexual comments were directed towards. I support this editorial’s perspective about the way the school handled this case which illustrates a lack of consistency. The attention given to the perspective of the victims that are involved with this case is not justified but I will be critiquing the author’s rea soning and arguing that the accused students should be suspended. I will argue that not all 13 students should be reprimanded based on the information provided within this editorial as this piece illustrates a complex view of which members are truly the wrongdoers. I will also argue that a variation of classes should be offered based on the partial suspension the school has initiated to honour the idea that no suspect should be deemed guilty before a proper evaluation of all the information. The author of this editorial strongly argues that all 13 members of this Facebook page should be suspended based on what was posted on Facebook. The author clearly states. â€Å"the violent, misogynist comments posted by some of the members of the private Facebook page called â€Å"Class of DDS Gentlemen†Ã¢â‚¬  (Thestar.com). Comments referenced some female students from the class, asking â€Å"‘who would you like to hate f—k?’ — where they rated their choices. Other posts joked about using chloroform on women. In another post, a woman is shown in a bikini with a caption that says ‘Bang until stress is relieved or unconscious (girl)’† (Thestar.com). The severity of the supposed postings by some members of this class illustrates the violent sexual content illustrating the need to investigate those who posted this information. Not all 13 students should be punished if they did not all make any comments connected with this harmful content. The first thing that must be reviewed is exactly which members of the group directly posted the comments or supporting discussion that was linked to a sexually violent nature of conversation. The author’s argument that the school did not handle the situation properly is relevant, however the outcome that is proposed defies the legal system that is meant to operate in a fair and just manner. Firstly the author is correct in indicating anger that it was â€Å"nearly a month after women complained† that something was done by the school. In support of following the proper procedures of a justice system the school should have acted immediately. The author indicates that the action should have been a full suspension. The argument that is offered indicates â€Å"so far. Dalhousie has gone a long way towards balancing the rights of the accused and those of potential victims. However, it has fallen short on one important point: it should suspend the 13 men involved from classes as well as clinics† (Thestar.com). The point is not well argued as it defies the very idea of rights that entitle the accused to a fair proceeding. The school has suspended the students partially indicating a grave concern that these men are in contact with innocent patients within the clinical component of this semester. The author argues, â€Å"the partial suspension is serious. 13 fourth-year students cannot work with patients or classmates in the school’s dental clinic, a requirement for graduation this spring† (Thestar.com). The fact that the school has taken action to protect patients is a strong argument that is presented by the author. In agreeing with this opinion, the lack of attention to the female students in the class is alarming, as they have either directly or indirectly have been spoken about within a violent and sexualized context by those accused fellow classmates. The author’s concern is valid, however, I will argue that they should not be suspended from class but should be offered an independent study period while the accusations are being investigated. The first issue that is recognized within this editorial is the wrongful grouping of all members of this Facebook group as being regarded as directly involved with the accusations that are being made. The author argues that some of the members posted those comments. It is recognized that simply being a part of a group does not make everyone necessarily responsible for the deeds that may be performed by several members of that party. The author of this editorial indicates that those who are guilty of posting such degrading and violently abusive comments should be punished. This is justifiable; however, the need to ensure that those who are guilty of these very actions that are being described must be clarified. This editorial continuously calls for the suspension of all 13 men; however, this is a flawed argument. The need to act in a just manner as argued in the editorial on behalf of the victims should also be extended to those who may be in the group but may not have offered any of the negative remarks being reviewed. The recognition that there could be members of the group who may not have added comments must be acknowledged. It is important to ensure only those connected with posting those comments face the ramifications of being investigated and facing the temporary rules issued by the school during this process. The second argument offered reinforces the necessity of issuing a fair trial to ensure that both sides of this conflict are treated in a just manner. The editorial suggests for the immediate suspension from all classes of the 13 members of this Facebook group. That is unfair to the rights of those who currently have been accused of this action. The need for a fair trial is necessary before such extreme and final action can be made. That direct suspension could jeopardize the school career of these students. Should they be found innocent, or connected to foul play this represents an unfair situation for the students. The editorial indicates that the victims should be treated with respect and that a balance needs to be struck between the opposing parties. That being said the author is correct that the balance of justice should be maintained. The proposition that should be offered is a compromise between what the editorial has suggested as well as the actions that the school has taken. To suspend the students is to illustrate that they are guilty but this has not been determined as yet as the investigation is still under way. The school has already acted in a harmful manner by taking action a month after the information was brought to their attention. The suggestion is to let the accused student’s remain connected with the professors (outside of the classroom) based on the current scenario. They have paid their tuition and are entitled to be educated until this matter is fully investigated and resolved. The school feels that they should not be able to interact with clinical patients to protect those individuals should these students be found of wrongdoing. That being said, that same courtesy must be extended to the other students in the classroom. Specific females in the class were ridiculed and referenced in a sexually violent manner that is quite disturbing. Their rights must be protected as they may feel threatened and the school must act accordingly. An other example that may be used to offer a correlation to this case could be reviewed in the case of a parent who may be accessed of abuse. The children are removed from custody to ensure that they are protected while the matter is investigated. The school must also protect these female students during this time. The suggestion, however, of suspending the accused students fails to ensure the rights of those men. The editorial argues for the balance of rights to be performed within this scenario. To ensure the women are offered a fair set of rights also means the accused men should also be treated in a fair manner. Justice can only work if everyone is treated equally. If the justice system does not adhere to that model of equilibrium, then no one is safe, undermining the freedom of everyone. The editorial does not offer a sense of balance as suggested by the need for suspension as that illustrates a commentary of guilty before a trial has even begun. The women must be protected and cr eating an alternative level of study for the accused students becomes pertinent as further investigations are completed. The editorial takes a strong stance on the actions that Dalhousie has taken in light of the postings that have been made public. The necessity to be ready to properly deal with these types of concerns swiftly and justly illustrates the need to protect victims at the centre of these cases. The editorial rightfully highlights an imbalance between the victims and the suspected culprits. The flaw in this work indicates the passing of judgment before a rightful investigation has been made. Accusing all 13 men and saying they must be suspended undermines the integrity of the justice system. To use the justice system to protect these women means adhering to the rules that govern that very system. Firstly, the determination of the men who are connected to the comments should be found. Only those men should be offered another form of schooling outside of the current parameters of class lectures and clinical practice. The school’s failure to immediately address this issue is where the t ension of being perceived as flippant about the safety and well-being of the victims is recognized. One month is far too long to take action against the allegations of sexually violent comments being made against classmates. The school must set an example that they will immediately act in a fair manner to both sides to ensure that the reputation of the school is not tarnished. Suspending the students before a full investigation of the case fails to respect the justice system. The fulfillment of the guidelines that promote justice is necessary to protect these women as well as those only suspected of this crime. The responsible thing to do is to act right away and prevent any emotional turmoil, which results in the suspected students being investigated while continuing their classes in a diminished and altered capacity. The threat of sexual violence, even in a joking manner, is unethical and to combat that problem acting in an ethical and just way is necessary and can only be achieve d by fulfilling a thorough investigation and maintaining the rights of all parties at all times. More than 5,000 troops were under General Miles' command at that time, including elements of the 4th, 6th and 10th Cavalry. He gave the principal pursuit mission to the 4th because it was headquartered at Fort Huachuca, the base of operations for the campaign. The Army had permission to go to Mexico in pursuit. Captain Henry Lawton, commanding officer of "B" Troop, 4th Cavalry, was an experienced soldier who knew the ways of the Apaches. His tactics were to wear them down by constant pursuit. Stationed at the fort at that time were many men who would later become well known in the Army: Colonel W. B. Royall, commanding officer of the fort and the 4th Cavalry, who was responsible for the logistical support of the Geronimo campaign; Leonard Wood, who went along on the expedition as contract surgeon; Lieutenant Colonel G. H. Forsyht; Captain C.A.P. Hatfield; Captain J.H. Dorst; and First Lieutenant Powhatan H. Clarke, who was immortalized by the artist, Remington, for saving a black trooper during the campaign. With the fort as advance base for the pursuit forces, the heliograph communications network, which General Miles had established in Arizona and New Mexico, was used effectively for logistical purposes. However, the Indians and the Army were conducting their chase in Mexico where the system did not extend. So the most the heliograph could do in the campaign was relay messages brought by fast riders from the border. April 1, 1886 was the date that Captain Lawton led his troopers with two pack trains and 30 Indian Scouts through the Huachuca Mountains to Nogales, Mexico, to pick up Geronimo's trail. Though various units would join the pursuit later and separate to follow trails left by the Indians back and forth across the border, there were few times that Army troops and members of Geronimo's band would come face to face. Four Months later, Captain Lawton and Leonard Wood were sent back to Fort Huachcua, worn down by the rough country and grueling campaign. More than 3,000 miles were covered by the Indians and the Army during the chase, which took a month longer than General Miles had planned. The men had walked and ridden through some of the most inaccessible desert land in North America, in heat sometimes above 110 degrees. After Geronimo's surrender, "B" Troop of the 4th Cavalry was given the mission of escorting the Apache's to Flo... ...were killed by Mexicans in 1858, he participated in a number of raids against Mexican and American settlers, but eventually settled on a reservation. In March 1886, the American general George Crook captured Geronimo and forced a treaty under which the Chiricahua would be relocated in Florida; two days later Geronimo escaped and continued his raids. General Nelson Miles then took over the pursuit of Geronimo, who was chased into Mexico and captured the following September. The Native Americans were sent to Florida, Alabama, and finally to Fort Sill, Oklahoma Territory, where they settled as farmers. Geronimo eventually adopted Christianity. The knee joint is formed by the articulation of the distal end of the femur and the proximal end of the tibia. The fibula is only involved to the extent that it serves as an attachment site for connective tissue. In this paper, the anatomy of the joint will be discussed. The knee is a hinge-type, diarthrotic, or freely moveable joint. Also referred to as a synovial joint, the 2 articulating ends of bone are encased in a capsule that lubricates the joint with synovial fluid to reduce friction. Each bone in a synovial joint has articular cartilage at the articulating surface. The C-shaped medial and lateral menisci serve to deepen the articulation at the superior surface of the tibia, thus enhancing the bony stability of the joint. Also adding to the joints stability are the two major pairs of ligaments: the cruciates and the collaterals. The medial and lateral collateral ligaments have a stabilizing effect in a lateral plane of motion, helping to prevent sideward displacement and over-rotation. The medial collateral attaches the femur to the tibia, also attaching to the medial meniscus. The lateral collateral attaches the femur to the fibula but has no attachment to the lateral meniscus. Both collaterals lie slightly posterior to the lateral axis of the knee joint and are taut when the knee is full extension. This positioning of the ligaments causes a slackness when flexion occurs, allowing medial and lateral rotation to take place. The cruciate ligaments are so named because of their cross-configuration within the joint. The anterior cruciate ligament attaches to the tibia on its anterior-superior surface, crossing through the joint from the medial side to its lateral attachment on the femur. The posterior cruciate ligament attaches on the posterior-superior aspect of the tibia, crossing diagonally and medially to its lateral attachment on the femur. As China realised the need for modernisation, the one child policy was implemented in June 1979 to achieve three main goals: 1. To address the low per capita GNP by increasing the per capita income to $800. 2. To increase or improve the standard of living. 3. To keep China’s total population size from exceeding 1.2 billion by the year 2000. China recognised the easiest way to achieve these goals was by restricting the population growth. That way, there would be a more likely increase in per capita income. Although several attempts have been previously made to control fertility growth, it was little as effective as it was optional and not many complied. However, China’s one child policy was a completely different matter. By accepting the policy, you were eligible for certain privileges and if you reject it, you’ll have to pay a fine. These regulations helped enforce the one couple, one child idea. The one child policy proved to be a great success in urban China but ineffective in rural China. Regardless of their educational attainment or residence, all women generally desired two children. The one child policy worked best in urban China because of the strong organisation control and social transformations that changed the function of children and reduced the preference for sons. In an urban sample, in both Hebei and Shaanxi, the sex of the first child is insignificant. This lack of sex preference effect was the main ingredient for success of the one child policy. However, this was not the case in rural China where villagers were in favour of traditional preferences for sons. Although the implementation of the one  child policy caused a decline in rural fertility rate from about five to 2.4 children by making farmers realise they needed high quality labourers and not a large number, most rejected the one child certificate. With the majority going on to have a second birth, 22% having a third birth and some having a fourth or fifth birth. These â€Å"hazards† in the one child policy were mainly caused by the first birth being a girl and living with parents in law. But overall, China’s one child policy is an effective means of fertility control, despite the minor violation in rural areas. The failure of the one child policy in rural China may be a blessing in disguise. When the generation of parents of single children reach retirement age, the state will face more financial burdens than it does now. So perhaps the Chinese peasants have saved China from an economic disaster. The current per capita income in China is around $800, the living conditions have definitely improved as most Chinese now enjoy a high standard of living and China’s population by the year 2000 was recorded to be around 1.26 billion which slightly exceeded the set 1.2 billion mark. It was developed by his past experience from infancy up to present. The subject would feel depressed whenever he is experiencing paranoia and suspicion. This will lead for the subject to be deprived of sleep, lose his appetite and experience extreme sadness. He also experience feeling of hopelessness and worthlessness. When he was an infant, his father was always busy at work as a utility man. His mother is the only one who is always taking care of him. Although the subject was loved by his siblings, he still deeply longs for the love of a father; it is the main reason for the development of his impairment in interpersonal functioning. When the subject reaches his early childhood up to puberty, his longing for the love of a father is still with him. This longing for love of a father developed his hatred. He thinks that his father doesn’t love him because he is not spending so much time with him. There was an instance where he embarrassed his father in front of his friends by answering back without respect. The subject feels guilty after that incident. He knows that he should have not done that. And when he was in college, he was accused of being involved in a  fight between two fraternities because of his tattoo. This triggers his suspiciousness and paranoia. He thinks that people around him are talking about his involvement in that fight. In fact, he even thinks that some of his friends are NBI agent trying to spy on him. He becomes very depressed because of his anxiousness. He even experience visual and auditory hallucination. This affects his perception towards himself and the environment. As a result, his overall functioning became impaired by making him deviate from what he believes is real from unreal and right from wrong. Abnormal content of thought The patient’s content of thought was abnormal. It is deeply depressed and anxious. Because of his visual and auditory hallucinations, his paranoid ideation was developed for he believes that what he sees and what he hear is true. The patient has delusion of persecution. He would think that people around him are always talking about him. He even hears voices from television and radio talking about him. He thinks that people around him are planning something to destroy him. This resulted for the subject to became depressed and be emotionally unstable. Because of his paranoid ideation, the subject becomes very anxious about people around him. He thinks that vendors and door-to-door salespersons are NBI agents trying to get information about him. He even thinks that his friends, classmate and relatives are conspiring against him. The subject also has a delusion of grandeur. He thinks that he is very popular worldwide. He is also having a suicidal thought but is afraid in acting upon it. The patient is also having a feeling of hopelessness and worthlessness as he says â€Å"wala nang kwentang mabuhay†. He even feels that he has no allies and everyone is against him, he said that, â€Å"wala na kong kakampi†. This also triggers his impairment in overall functioning. Illogical form of thought The patient has a thought insertion. He is calling it â€Å"dagdag bawas†. He said that there were times that his thought were being taken away and then brought back. His form of thought was illogical. He thinks that people around him are spying and conspiring against him. He is having irrational suspicion about people around him due to his auditory hallucinations that  made him anxious. He is acting accordingly to his auditory hallucinations which are commanding him to do things. He would also rather hear a word which is out of context of what is being said to him or latter added in a word changing the meaning of the sentence. Distorted perception The patient’s perception was distorted; he would think that what he it was made of human flesh. He decided not to eat anymore because he believes that it will make him more of a sinner. He believes that he is an â€Å"aswang† and everything he ate was made up of human flesh. He decided to stop eating because he thinks that it will make him more of a sinner. He also believes that he deserves to die and acted upon it by slashing his wrist with a knife. He views himself differently far from what is real. This resulted for the subject to lose his appetite and loss his interest in things. He also believes that he is known internationally. He would also believe that people around him are conspiring against him to destroy him. This resulted for the patient to withdraw. Increasing his anxiety, and impaired his overall functioning. Mood and affect His mood was deeply depressed and anxious. It is due to his paranoid ideas about his friends and family conspiring against him. He even said that â€Å"wala na kong kakampi† because he thinks that everyone around him are destroying him. He even thinks that his family is spying on him too. He is preoccupied with that thought. His affect was constricted due to his lack of emotional reactivity. It is the result of his depression because he finds it hard to express his emotions and feelings. In fact, in his MSE report, there are no verbal outputs about his speech, thought process, thought content, judgment and insight, and reliability. Impaired sense of self The subject’s sense of self was impaired due to his unawareness of his physical and mental state, he believes that the problem is not in himself but in the environment, although he is somewhat right in that point considering the environmental factors that which have led to his impairment, but in reality the problem was inside himself, he is the only one who can help himself and of course the origin of his disease was his weak sense of  self due to his inability to fight it off, he easily believed his hallucinations and his distorted perception about people, things and his self, in other words he was the one who pushed himself to madness. He believed that he is an â€Å"aswang† making him to decide to stop eating. He also believes that he deserves to die and acted upon it by slashing his wrist with a knife. Altered volition The subject’s course of action was altered by his false beliefs about things around him. He stops on eating because he believes that he is an â€Å"aswang† and everything he ate was made out of human flesh. He also decided to withdraw due to his paranoid ideations about people around him. He viewed most of the people around him to be NBI agent spying on him. He even reacts accordingly to his auditory hallucinations which are commanding him to do things that are harmful to him. He also decided to kill himself by slashing his wrist with a knife because he believes that he deserves to die. Impaired interpersonal function It is first developed when the subject is still a child. His father is not always around him making him envious with other kids which have a good relationship with their father. This longing of fatherly love developed hatred towards his father. He even embarrassed his father in front of his friends by shouting and cursing at him. This incident made his relationship to his father more difficult. And when he was in college, he was mistakenly accused as one of the students who started the fraternity fight because of his tattoo. After that incident, gossip still continues about him being involved about the fight which is believed to be drug related. This made the subject to be very anxious about people around him. He thinks that his classmates are NBI agents in civilian trying to spy on him. Because of his paranoid ideations, his interpersonal activity decreased because he decided to withdraw. It made him depressed and loss his interest in things. Change in psychomotor function There was a drastic change in the patient’s psychomotor function after the incident of being mistakenly accused of being involved in a fight two  fraternities. His suspiciousness towards people around him is extreme to the point that he believes that even his family is conspiring against him. He experience slowing of movements described as â€Å"kilos parang zombie†. This is the result of his loss of appetite and interest in things. He is also having difficulty in initiating and maintaining sleep. It made him unhealthy and affected his psychomotor functions. As a result, his interpersonal relationship was affected because of his condition. He became depressed and decided to withdraw and isolate himself. This made the subject have low self esteem and feels inadequate. Depression Depressed or sad The subject’s depression was due to his past unhappiness. It may be the result of his guilt feelings about his relation to his father and to his brother’s business. He feels guilty about embarrassing his father in front of his friends by shouting and cursing at him. And the incident of being mistakenly accused of being related to a fraternity fight made him depressed. After that incident, gossip about him still continued and precipitated his illness. He became very anxious about people around him and made him preoccupied with his paranoid ideation. As a result, the subject loss his appetite and interest in things. His interpersonal relationship is also affected and his overall functioning became impaired. Guilt Feelings The subject’s guilt feelings are the result of his past unhappiness. When he was in high school, there was an incident where he embarrassed his father in front of his classmate by shouting and cursing to him. He feels guilty after it but he did not apologize. He also feels guilty to the closure of his brother-in-law’s electronic shop. He thinks that he is the reason why the business became bankrupt and felt guilty about it. This resulted for the subject to become depressed in feel self worthlessness. He thinks that he is good for nothing as the voices in his head telling him that he is â€Å"walang kwenta†. Feelings of worthlessness Because of his paranoid ideations, he becomes very anxious about people  around him. He started to think that everyone is against him and he has no allies. This made him think that it is not worth living and he deserves to die. There are even voices who is telling him derogatory remarks like, â€Å"walang kwenta†, â€Å"lapastangan† , â€Å"gago† , and â€Å"rapist† which made the subject made more less worthy of himself. His feeling of worthlessness triggers his suicidal thought. He acted upon it by cutting his wrist with a knife. Hopeless and helplessness The subject felt hopeless and helpless due to his paranoid ideations. He believes that his classmates are NBI agent in civilian trying to get information about him after he was accused of being involved in the fraternity fight. He thinks that everyone around him is against him. He also thinks that he has no allies left even his own family. He believes that his family is talking about him and saying that he is good for nothing. He was once heard saying â€Å"wala na kong kakampi†. He viewed people around him suspiciously. This worsened his depression and he feels more worthless, hopeless, and helpless and drove him to the idea of suicide. Feeling of inadequacy The subject has feeling of inadequacy because of lack of fatherly love. He feels envious to other kids who have a good relationship with their father. His feeling of inadequacy is also caused by his guilt feelings about his brother-in-law’s business closure. As a result, the subject feels worthless, hopeless, and helpless. There are voices in his head saying that he is â€Å"walang kwenta†. It made him feel that he is really good for nothing. He said that he has no allies left even his own family and he thinks that he deserves to die. This triggers the subject to commit suicide. Suicidal Ideation The subject’s suicidal ideation is due to his feeling of worthlessness, hopelessness, and helplessness. He thinks that everyone around him, even his family and relatives, are conspiring against him. He said that he has no allies left. He feels inadequate and he believes that he is good for nothing. He even heard voices telling him that he is â€Å"walang kwenta† and he  heard a voice calling him â€Å"Judas†. It made him depressed and he decided to commit suicide just the way Judas did. He hanged himself with a rope but he failed in doing so. The thought that he deserves to die trigger him to finally do his suicide attempt by cutting his wrist with a knife. Anxiety His anxiety was triggered after he was mistakenly accused of being involved in the fight of two fraternities. After that incident, gossip about his involvement continued. That is the time when the patient started to think that some of his classmates are NBI agents in civilian trying to get information and spy on him. He became very anxious about people around him. He is preoccupied with the thought of being watched by someone. He suspected even the vendors and door-to-door salesperson to be NBI agents. As a result, his social functioning was affected by his anxiety and paranoid ideations. Social Isolation and withdrawal The patient has a lot of anxiety and paranoid ideas around people around him. There is an incident where he is alone one night, he felt someone touching his ear and calling his name. This made him depressed and made him withdraw. He isolates himself because of the thought that he is being watched by people around him. He feels suspicious even to his family. He thinks that everyone is conspiring against him to destroy him. His feelings of inadequacy also reinforce his attitude of social isolation. He feels that he is good for nothing and he has no allies left even his own family.
